The volunteers in our child day care centres in Tübingen, Reutlingen and Hohenheim, which look after students’ children aged 0 – 6, take on caretaker tasks and household tasks (preparing breakfast, evening meals, serving lunch and cleaning work) in a children’s group. They also support the nursery teachers in their work with the children, e.g. during meals, in game situations or when preparing festivities.
The volunteers mainly work at the advice centre for disabled and chronically ill students at the University of Tübingen. The tasks here not only include general office work, but particularly looking for and purchasing literature and processing items on computers to make them suitable for the disabled. The volunteers also accompany the students to lectures or the library, perform messenger services and support them as they handle everyday tasks.
